A Legacy of Service: Proven Leadership and Dedication to Newton County

Being sheriff is not just a position for me; it’s a calling. A calling that has required years of preparation, a deep understanding of the responsibilities, and an unwavering commitment to the people I serve. For over 40 years, I have dedicated myself to learning, training, and working through the ranks at the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

My opponent may be a trained police officer, but there is a difference between being an officer and being the sheriff. This role demands more than experience in patrol; it requires comprehensive knowledge of the county's civil processes, its courts, and its jail, in addition to handling warrants and ensuring the safety of every individual in our community. Day one as sheriff isn’t the time for on-the-job training. It’s the time for making sound decisions based on a legacy of understanding—an understanding that only comes from years within this office, working side by side with the community, and serving with dedication.

Throughout my career, I’ve served in every division of this office, leading with honesty and integrity. My journey — from patrolman to sheriff — has equipped me with the wisdom, insight, and knowledge necessary to lead effectively. I understand the delicate balance of civil duties, the structure of the courts, the complexities of jail operations, and the vigilance required for patrol.

But it’s not just about my experience; it’s about continuing to build a strong foundation for the future. Right now, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office has individuals working their way through the ranks, just as I did. They are gaining experience, learning the processes, and preparing to lead. My hope — my vision — is that one of them will carry on this legacy, rising up to serve as sheriff and keeping the commitment to Newton County alive. This legacy is one of dedication, of understanding the true nature of this office, and of serving the community from within.

I believe deeply in connecting with the community on a personal level, listening to your concerns, and taking action. I am a person of the community and for the community. My opponent may want this position, but Newton County deserves more than ambition; it deserves a sheriff who is prepared, who knows the responsibilities inside and out, and who has proven their commitment over decades.

So, I ask for your vote on or before November 5th to continue the legacy of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office and to ensure our community is protected by those who know it best.
